Well here they are my family. The crazy group of people whom I love to death, the ones that made me into the person I am today.

To the left of this picture is my Brother-In-Law Enrique Valencia (a.k.a. Mikey), to the right of him is my sister, Annie Valencia. Next to her in the middle is my mom Magalis Rodriguez. To the right of my mom is my father Dr. Juan Rodriguez. Finally to the bottom of the picture are my Niece and Nephew, Lily and RJ Valencia.

My sister and best friend has always been there for me even when I was a pain in the but. She always looked after me as I did her. My Brother-In-Law, whom I have known for as long as I can remember, is as close to me as a true brother. He showed me how to play baseball, soccer, and is responsible for the career I have in computers. My mom, best mother ever, what else can I say. She never failed me, she was always there for me. My father, the person I owe everything to. He is the man who taught me how to be independent, strong, brave, resourceful, honorable, caring and smart in other words is taught me everything I need to know to succeed. And now, I hope I have learned well enough to be the best husband and father just like him. Finally my niece and nephew, the ones that remind me everyday what it means to laugh, play and not have a care in the world.

I don't know what I have done to deserve this great group of people but I am proud to be a member of this family.

If you would like to learn a little more about them continue reading below...

My name is Juan Jorge Rodriguez. The majority of my dear friends call me Juan or Juanito, those who have known me for many years as well as my family members call me Jorge, and for a few of my newest and dearest friends I am Don Juan. I am also known as Mr. Rodriguez, Doctor Juan and Dr. Rodriguez. I respond very gratefully to all of them. This certainly is a reflection of my past experiences. I was born in Havana, Cuba where I went to school from elementary to the University level. I began to teach when I was only 18 years old and enjoyed teaching all levels in my sweet old Cuba. I married my school sweetheart to whom I owe the person I am today. We were forced to leave our country and ended up in California where I went to school and worked for my Master’s degree in Science and my Philosophy Doctor degree in Psychology. I taught for five years and became a Pupil Service and Attendance Counselor for five more years before becoming a School Psychologist with the Los Angeles Unified School District. I worked for 30 years and retired so I could be free to follow my dearest daughter and her family. I resettled here in Florida 7 years ago and enjoyed the weather which resembles a little of my old Cuba. Here, I decided to continue working and I applied for a teaching position with IRCC and to be a Psychologist with Indian River County Schools. To my delight, I was accepted in both places and all my names are back in one way or another: Juan, Jorge, Don Juan, Dr. Juan and Dr, Rodriguez. I still love all of them. My life now is very peaceful, I am blessed with my gorgeous wife of 45 years, a beautiful daughter, a remarkably educated son-in-law, two incredibly beautiful grandchildren (Lily and R.J.), my intelligent and hardworking son of whom I am so proud of, and now with a daughter-in-law who has fulfilled all our deepest expectations.

I am the proud mother of the groom, Magalis Rodriguez, also known as Magalis Sobera or Maggie as I am called by all of my American friends. I was born in Havana, Cuba (not too long ago) and I married very young to the love of my life. A few years after our wedding, we left Cuba and went to California where I worked in the Norwalk-La Mirada Unified School District for twenty years in the bilingual program. When I was attending Cerritos College in California, my career was interrupted with the sweet news of a pregnancy (today’s groom). After thirty years in Los Angeles, California, we moved to Florida following our wonderful daughter and her beautiful family to Sebastian, a place that we now call home. I volunteered to assist with the English as a Second Language program in Fellsmere and I was elated when they hired me to work with my husband (now I am his boss again). I left many good friends back in California, but now I am blessed with so many more and with a very especial addition to our family with a beautiful, lovely and intelligent daughter-in-law.
